Sri Sri Radha Natabara on Janmastami

Big News! The Columbus Temple website is moving very soon!

Sometime within the next few weeks, the ISKCON Krishna House site will be moving to its new home at www.krishnahouse.com. This move has been made possible by the generous donations of our viewers and congregation who felt it was time for the ISKCON Krishna House to get its own personalized, permanent site on the world wide web!

The move will allow us to upgrade the site to include more JavaScript and the addition of various databases, etc. if we so choose. Our current site on Tripod has been here since March of 2000, and while the site has served us nicely, it has severe limitations that do not allow us to do what we'd like to do. By moving the site off Tripod, our visitors will not have advertisements getting in the way. Our site has grown from 7 pages to over 50, including a large photo collection, and our new web hosting company offers more room to expand the site. Currently, the site is viewed over 200 times weekly. It is our hope to attract more viewers as the site goes to it's new "official" home on the world wide web.

We have recently purchased the domain name and signed up with our new hosting company. After our web hosting company has set the new site up, this site will be moved as quickly as possible. During that time, there may be some interruption and some pages missing. We apologize for any inconvenience as we move Sri Sri Radha Natabara to Their new site and respectfully request you join us on the new site!

As always, we are open to feedback. Please let us know what you think about the site, what you would like to see more of, and if you have any suggestions for improvement.

We would like to offer our sincerest gratitude to all of the people who made this move possible! Hare Krishna!

Join us for Radhastami! NEW DAY - Sunday, August 26th

Sunday, August 26th the Krishna House will be celebrating Radhastami, Srimati Radharani's Appearance Day as a part of the Sunday Evening Program starting at 5:30 p.m. Please note this is a schedule change from Saturday.

During the program, there will be ecstatic kirtans, bhajans, special stories of Her pastimes with Lord Krishna, discussion of Her 25 Transcendental Qualities, and an incredible prasadam feast.

Our beautiful Radharani will give a very special darshan that evening. She always dresses so nicely and is so chaste that she never even shows Her feet. However, on Her appearance day, She will display her lovely lotus feet for the pleasure of Her devotees. The picture to the right is Her on last year's Appearance Day. Look closely to see Her toes.

As part of Srimati Radharani's actual appearance day on Saturday, the devotees will be fasting until noon and invite our website visitors to do the same. Then, please join us on Sunday stating at 5:30 for Her appearance day celebration at the Krishna House! We look forward to seeing you there!

Srimati Radharani ki jai!

Would YOU like to sponsor a Krishna House feast?

Many of our congregational members are getting the HIGHER TASTE by stepping forward and helping out with cooking the bhoga (prasadam for the feast). On Thursday, July 5, the maha feast was sponsored and cooked by Pramata, Sanjukta and Aditi in honor of their firstborn son, Syamantaka.

If you would like to sponsor a feast or help by cooking, please contact Abhijit or email Rasa Manjari dasi if you like to make a contribution for the coming feasts. You can also call the temple at (614) 421-1661. Hare Krishna!

Krishna Janmastami at the Krishna House - August 12th

Just In! Janmastami 2001 Photo Album!

On August 12th, the Krishna House celebrated Sri Krishna Janmastami. The entire congregation turned out for this 7 hour event.

Devotees started very early in the day for this event. They cooked over 108 preparations for Their Lordship's pleasure over the course of the day. They decorated the entire temple with strands of marigold garlands and balloons.

The program included bhajans, readings, a drama by the Columbus Krishna House Players, and abhishek and swinging of Gopal Krishna. Ecstatic kirtan after kirtan could be heard down the street. A special arati was held at midnight and was followed by a delicious maha prasadam feast. Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Natabara wore a brand new outfit for the occasion.

Thank you to all who attended and made this a very special festival! Hare Krishna!

Snana-Yatra, The Bathing of Their Lordships, Sunday, July 1st

Lady Subhadra On Sunday, July 1st, the Columbus Krishna House celebrated Snana-Yatra. Snana-Yatra is the traditional Abhisheka (Bathing ceremony) of Lord Jaganatha, Lord Balarama, and Lady Subhadra.

The festival started with kirtans as the Deities were taken to be prepared for this special ceremony. Also, the glorious pastimes of the Lord on His Ratha Yatra cart were discussed. The Deities were then brought to the temple room where they were bathed by all who attended the ceremony. Click here for pictures from the festival.

After the festival, The Deities then caught a cold and stayed confined until the Ratha Yatra in New Vrindaban Community in West Virginia. During Their seclusion, the Deities received many gifts from devotees and well-wishers. The Deities then travelled along with Sri Sri Radha Natabara to New Vrindaban to attend the festival weekend there.

Krishna House devotees attend New York City Ratha Yatra, June 9th

Cart on 5th Avenue

On June 9th, devotees from all over the United States attended the New York City Ratha Yatra, one of the largest Ratha Yatras in the country. About 15 devotees and congregational members of the Columbus temple made the trip from Ohio to New York for this annual event. Devotees pulled the carts of Balarama, Subhadra, and Jagannatha from 59th Street for 50 blocks through the heart of Manhattan travelling straight down 5th Avenue. They chanted, danced, and had ecstatic kirtans all the way to Washington Square Park where the Festival of India was being held. The Festival of India had many events including traditional Indian dances, prasadam distribution, book and devotional merchandise sales, and information about Krishna Consciousness.

The next day, devotees held a special program in Tompkins Square Park under the tree that Srila Prabhupada chanted under. They held kirtans for hours and answered the questions of the curious. Prasadam was distributed out of the 26 Second Avenue temple where Srila Prabhupada used to give lectures to his first disciples. That evening, devotees traveled to the Brooklyn Temple for ecstatic kirtans and an incredible program. The Deities, Sri Sri Radha Govinda, wore a new outfit for the occasion.

The Festival of India travels all over the United States making appearances. They may be coming soon to a city near you, so be certain to check the Festival of India website for information.
